Music by area

Draw an area with WorldGuard, give it a track, and every guest walking in hears it.

Updated 16 October 2026

Each area of your park — the entrance, a themed land, a queue line, a restaurant — can have its own music. Guests hear it the moment they step in, and it fades out when they leave.

The areas are WorldGuard regions. If you already protect your park with WorldGuard, you probably have most of them.

1. Create the region in the game#

If the area doesn't have a region yet, draw one with WorldEdit and WorldGuard:

  1. Take the wand: //wand.
  2. Left-click one corner of the area, right-click the opposite corner. Go high and low enough to cover the whole space.
  3. Create the region: /rg define plaza_music

Use lowercase names without spaces, like plaza_music or western_land.

2. Give it a track#

In the administration, open Regions. It lists every WorldGuard region of your server, straight from the game (click Refresh if you have just created one). Use the search box to find yours, then click it:

SettingWhat it does
MusicThe track from your media library
Play on a loopOn for background music. Off to play the track once when a guest walks in.
EnabledUntick it to silence the area without losing its setup.

Save. That's it: walk into the area with your page open, and the music starts.

Areas inside areas#

A region can sit inside another — a queue line inside a themed land, a shop inside a street. The guest hears the music of the region with the higher WorldGuard priority. Give your inner regions a higher priority:

/rg setpriority queue_taron 10

Now the queue has its own music, and the land's music comes back when guests step out of it.

Good to know#

  • Everyone hears the same moment. Looped music is kept in time for all guests: two friends walking side by side hear the same beat.
  • The same track in several areas keeps playing smoothly when a guest walks from one to the next — it doesn't restart.
  • Leaving every musical area stops the music.
  • Changes apply at once, for everyone in the park.
  • Guests on a ride hear the ride's soundtrack instead, if it has one — see Ride soundtracks.

Testing a track on someone#

These commands play something on a guest's page directly — handy for testing, or for a one-off announcement:

/utp audio send Alex https://connect.your-park.com/music/fanfare.mp3
/utp audio volume Alex 80
/utp audio stop Alex

A track's address is shown under its title in the Media library. Instead of a name, you can use @a (everyone) or any Minecraft selector. You need the utp.command.audio permission.
